HOW DO WE DO IT?

The Learnership is focused on Developing Life & Work Skills Training.  Effectively Teach the “7 C’s” (Christ; Character/Conduct/Core Values; Care/Controls; Connections; Career; Computers; Calling.)  “L1's” explore these areas at an introductory level, while “L2's-L3’s” build upon the previous year's foundations, delving deeper in applying them. Within these topics, Learners are Live-Work-Play-Learn in a Developmental Ecosystem where an array of developmental training & service opportunities exist during the year. Here are some of the ways Development happens…

·Development Meetings – The core meeting of the Program, which includes personal sharing, a Learner-led devotional, and an interactive training on a topic under the 7 C's.  Including the TAI-CityWise Core Values… Covenant Love & Law, Communication, Accountability, Teamwork, Spirituality, Well-being, Work-ethic, Faithfulness, Leadership, Excellence, Growth, & Service

·TAI/CityWise Team-Wide Meetings – Focused on the professional development of full- and part-time Learners who serve as staff in The Antioch Initiative (TAI)/CityWise office

·Small Group Discipleship – Weekly men's and women's meetings to promote personal accountability and Bible study related to Church@44's current sermon/study series

·One-on-One Counselling & Development – Individual discussions on personal issues and barriers, as well as personalized application of recent development topics

·Practical Work Experience – Full- and part-time Learners take on specific tasks at the TAI/CityWise office, using those experiences as skills development for future jobs and career paths

·Community & Ministry Service – Learners serve in an enhanced capacity within surrounding Communities and at Church@44, serving in various ministry areas 1-2 Sunday mornings per month and participating in monthly ministry team meetings according to their area of interest, led by church Elders and Leaders

·Career Mentoring – Quarterly meetings and job shadow/experiential learning opportunities with a mentor currently working in the field the Learner plans to pursue.

SO HOW DOES THIS HELP PEOPLE?

Learners are closer to achieving their personal objectives at the end of the program, but this can manifest itself in different ways for each individual. A few of our Learners took the time to write out what they gained from a year in The Learnership, so you can hear how everything directly from them!
